Greetings PTA Leaders,
On a cold day in February 1897, over 2,000 men and
women gathered in Washington, DC with a growing concern for the welfare of our
nation’s children. From this meeting, PTA was born. For 116 years, PTA has
provided families a voice to advocate on behalf of not only their own children,
but for every child in the country, regardless of who they are or where they
come from.
Today’s PTA—over a century later—continues the timeless mission of
making every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and
communities to advocate for all children. This commitment and dedication has
become the hallmark of PTA’s vast membership. How can we as
Today’s PTA continue to honor the legacy of our founders? This February begin a
tradition for your local unit or council by supporting the National PTA Endowment Fund. Through the Endowment Fund,
we help to ensure that the work of PTA continues for generations to come. Your
gift is a chance to honor our founders and to support the work of Today’s PTA
throughout this nation, in U.S. territories, and on military bases around the
world. Help honor not only our founders, but the
generations of volunteers who have continued to make a difference through their
devotion to PTA’s mission. We are Today’s PTA, let’s help ensure that PTA
remains one clear, strong voice speaking for every child for all of tomorrow’s
